-For Use In Clay-
- It is recommended to spray stamps lightly with a kitchen oil before each session, as this helps release the stamp without clay sticking. Alternatively you can dust lightly with cornflower. Though this step isn't strictly necessary.
- Practice on scrap clay first to get a feel for how hard you need to press in. Be careful not to press hard if clay is very moist.
- If you press too hard and clay gets stuck, clean with water and a soft toothbrush or similar.
- Stamps work best and give a much cleaner print on clay that isn't overly moist.
- Place the paper on a slightly soft surface such as a piece of felt, foam, or a yoga matt
- Use a block printing roller to roll block printing ink evenly onto the stamp, or a paintbrush to apply paint or liquid ink to the stamp.
- Press the stamp onto the paper firmly around the centre and edges so that the entire stamp gives an even print- practice on scrap paper to find the right technique first
- Create greeting cards, wrapping paper, or mixed media artworks
